The magazine i have created has been strongly aimed at young men and women between the ages of 15 and 34. the magazine will help and support ameture talent such as rappers and producers to go further in their careers, sections such as the tech analysis section and the new talent articles will support and promote this new generation of talent. This in particular makes my publication extremely important in the genre. The magazine has been maid to be clean and subtle so not to exclude any potential member of my target audience. My magazine has attempted to change the representation of young youths in the media particularly those into hiphop music. The magazine has done this through the use of formal fonts and subtle colours similar to those used in GQ. This shows the target audience in a different light and also encourages external target groups to read my magazine to gain knowlege on the genre and therefore have a deeper understanding. The actual content of the text and images supports this highly, my main feature article discusses the hard work and long nights that lead to the sucess of the artist, this is a huge contrast to the general image of "unemployed thugs" which has been created by the media in recent years. The mise en scene of my photo shoots has also supported the possitive image that i have tried to create for my target audience, all the models are clean and groomed and i have photographed them in passive possitions going against the images portrayed in Magazines such as the source and XXL magazine e.g. Nas the boxer pictured further bellow.
Although being a subtle and pure magazine through the use of props such as a baseball cap and a hooded top will create a direct link to the majority of my target audience. I have used a bold and imposing shot on my front cover to attract the readers to my magazine, the cover shot is extremely well defined and the white background helps to create significance and give the effect of dominance on the page. The models pose is significant as the side of his face in particularly his jaw suggest that he is of importance and acts as a source of inspiration to the target audience.
The theme and the house style of my magazine is hugely influence by the upper class chic of GQ, for this reason i beleive that Condenast distributors of GQ and Vogue to name but a few would be the perfect company to distribute my magazine. The magazines already run by condenast are hugely sucessful and attractive to my target audience of young successful people. I beleive that the power of Condenast will be hugely benificial to my magazine and will help in gaining support in the industry and attracting the relative people for interveiws.
through the creation of my magazine i have gained an array of different skills. thanks to my first photoshoot i learnt how to use diferent lenses and focus cameras corectly to either get the desired effect of maximum clarity. I used adobe photoshop and fireworks in the creation of my magazine these softwares helped me to acheive the high clarity and colours displayed in my magazine. Photoshop allowed me to get the maximum standard from my photoshoot and allow make the images more suitable by removing back grounds and cropping. The wand tool ans softening tool on photoshop where particularly helpfull in creating the smooth effect i have acheived through my images.
I beleive that my last magazine created as part of my preliminary task failed in its aim to repressent the genre in a new light. The colours and the text produced for the magazine excluded a larg ammount of potential readers due to the magazines in your face nature. The magazine i have now produced as a final version is much more refined and subtle suiting its purpose much more. the colours used whilst minimal are relative and add to the page, all the pages created have a strong house style which was lacking in the preliminary task. i have learnt from my mistakes and i beleive that i have created a much higher standard through them and now the magazine is much more fitting to the audience. The subtle tones added to a spark of colour on eachpage are not over powering as they where in the preliminary task. All these added features and the new found purity of the layout support the magazines aim in changeing the perception of young hiphop listeners and challenge popular beleif that the generation is antisocial and violent. The feedback i received throughout the development of my magazine from the target audience was hugely important in developing the magazine ans for the majority was extremely possitive. The target audience feel that they are represented much better through the new magazine and are attratced to the magazines concept much more than that of the Preliminary task.

Final contents evaluation
My final contents page is a refined version of my previous edit, the text has been moved over to cover the blank space. this created extra space in which i could enlarge and move my photograph higher on the page, This created space for text in which i explained the feature article and linked it to the image. i experimented with a number of diferent colour schemes however none where successful as they all detracted from the images and over complicated the page. I therefore as a result have chosen to stick to the grey scale i think it is more suitbale for the page and also the target audience as it is subtle and classy. i have stuck with the column system as it is easy to naviaget and space efficient for the page. i have used three images which are all highly relevant to the page and add the the text, the images are effective as they present the article in another platform.
In my first edit of my contents page i have tryed to use subtle tones which wont over power the photos or be to imposing to the eye of the reader. I have focused the contents page arund a main image taken from the inspiration of the vibe contents i analysed earlier. The contents page is a double page spread, this allows me to map all my pages and articles out clearly and still have spae for images. due to my page not being so condensed it makes it easier for the reader to read and navigate. In my secind edit i hope to add in a bit more colour to the page as i think it is a bit to bland in its current state. I am also going to create a bridge between the text and the main image
What the Target audience want from a contents page
from interveiwing my target audience i have discovered the key items of information to include on the contents page:
Upcoming Events column: the target audience for the majority are young males and females whoenjoy going out and love going to live music events, this column will make it easy for the reader to discover new events and will help them to secure tickets
Tech Section: This section is extremely valuable as many of the target audience are youg and aspiring artist. reveiws of tech such as headphones and production equipment will make it easier for ametures just starting out to select the right tech which will help them.
Fund raisers: The music industry is in a fragile place due to illegal downloading and media machines dominating the industry, this makes it hard for young artist and small venues to make money. This section will also help to safeguard the history of music by protecting venues such as the Roundhouse Camden that recently had a million pound renovation.
Artist section: This will be more of the inside gossip in the magazine, the sources will be relevant and will be portrayed from the artist perspective.

This magazines contents page is unique because it is based souly around an image and therefore is taking away significance from the text. The contents page infact has very minimal information or representation of articles and has chosen to only disply the Feature articles page and plot on the page. However the page is clean and clear to read and is very successful as a layout however isnt very functional as a use of navigation. The page is design over function, i would like to find a happy medium.
This contents page has been sourced from Vibe Magazine and has been made with my target audience in mind due to the fact that it is a Hiphop magazine. The Contents page again has been made and structured around a main image; this time of rapper Kanye West. The tile of the contents page "Contents" has been made to be spelt in 3 different lines of text, this means that the text can be larger and not restricted by the small size of the page. The way that the title has been layed out is also effective in drawing the eye downward toward the contents itself. The contents has been categorised into different sections for example Fashion and features as displayed in the image. The contents page is a double page and the rest of the articles are displayed clearly on the other page not shown in the image, the contents page is perfectly funtional and is easy to navigate. This is a happy medium and i will be using this page as inspiration for my own.
The Q magazines use of a doubke page is more along the line of what i was planning for my own. there is a good use of images on the page and they are very successful in breaking up the text of the contents. The title of the page has been traditionaly placed at the top along with the issue number. The images used are all completely relative to the contents and add to the articles, The photographs are clearly labled to the articles through the use of numbering. This encourages the reader to explore the page more and drags their eyes in different directions. The images on the page have been used as a form of advertising for the smaller attraction of the relating text and entises the reader on to read the article further into the magazine. The use of numbered pivtures is the most succesful aspect of this page and i will definately try to use it in the creation of my own contents page.
Contents Research
From looking in an array of magazines such as Sport, GQ, FHM and king i have discovered that there is a huge diversity between the different types of contents pages. Some of the mnagazines i focused on produced a double page for the contents, this made the page easier to read because the sections and article numbers where more sparse and didnt condense in to eachother when navigating. another thing i noticed through my research was the different ways in which to present the Articles in the contents page. Some magazines use the simple system of numbering the context in direct order to the pages of the actual magazine however more developed publications such as GQ and FHM use categories in which the articles are divided. This makes it easier for the reader to find the article they are looking for this makes the magazine more convinient and therefore more attractive to the fast lifestyles of the target audience. My target audience is extremely similar to that of FHM's and as a result i think that my audience would hugely appreciate the use of the categorie system in my own magazines contents page. Imformation is mapped oout in different ways aswell most magazines i looked at use the column system, this is traditional and ofcourse boring however is extremely easy and satifying to use as it dosnt over complicate the page or confuse the audience.
Wednesday, 7 December 2011
My final edit of my double page spread has been very sucessful and i am extremely pleased with the result. i have tryed to use knowledge and techniques that i discovered in my past work and through my research of the target audience and existing magazines. I have used the three column system shown through both the GQ article and the bilboard double page, i have gone a step further by adding the adding a picture in the middle of the text similar to Bilboard magazine. The picture is relevant and adds to the article therefore making it justified to have another image on the page, the image also creates a bridge effect between the text and the main photograph. the main photograph has been clearly annotated throught the use of a text box situated next to it. I was inspired by the GQ use of using colour as a link by taking the dominant colour of the photo and using it in the text, i have used this effect in my double page spread by using the blue from the hat to create my sub heading.
This article is effective as it is clear for the reader to understand andinterpret and at the same time being eye catching through the colours used in the magazine. The page has a clear house style which links with the colours of the famous Bilboard title. The three column layout has a picture placed directly in the middle of the text, this is effective because it dosnt waste space on the page and also forms a bridge to the main photograph.
The use of columns on this page has inspired me to use columns, i think that three columns to a single page is extremely effective as it is space efficient and also easier to navigate. the photograph is extremely dominant on the page taking a whole page for itself. i would like to use a prominant image on my page as it is effective in attracting the eye and also takes space on the page. the title of the article uses red and black taken from the image paricularly the car. The photograph is annotated by the box next to it which clearly defines what the picture represents and also links it to the rest of the text.
Double Page Feature
My double page spread will be focused around the front page photo; Rizzle Kicks Trio. The double page spread will use a simplistic colour scheme as determined by the target audience. The title font will be relative to the artist and the text and will form a direct link to the picture. I want the picture to be clear and defined, to get this effect i will have to use a hired camera for my photoshoot as the camera i have isnt up to scratch. i want the page to be clearly titled and page numbered as this will make it easier to navigate around the magazine. I am going to use clearly structured columns on the page as it will be easy to read and dominant on the page.

Magazine Developed
This edit has adressed some of the problems hihglighted by the feedback from the TA. I still need to fix the problem with the covers composition, a strong Z composition needs to be acheieved for the page to flow correctly. However i have fixed the problem involving the anchoring text and the text above the cover. i have possitioned the anchoring text over the image to make a clearer link between the photo and the article, the position of the new anchoring text aslo compliments the future Z composition plan for the cover. I have left a blank space in the bottom right corner in which will be a competition section which I need to complete a photo shoot for. Further miore i have developed my puff to have titles for the sections that they are categorised under, these titles include added colour which ties in with the photograph, this is a direct development from my feed back on my previous cover.
TA Feedback
My TA feedback was overall possitive however there was some slight issues that where raised by the readers.
.They Didnt like the wording of the text above title
.Thought that anchoring text was possitioned in wrong location
.Wanted the puffs to be more dominant on the page
I will adress these issues and come up with another edit.
I will do this through giving the puffs titles linking to their sections and also by addind a stronger colour to them such as the blue tones which will also tie the puffs to the image. I will mover the anchoring text and make the font larger to draw more attention from the veiwer when looking at a glance. The wording above will be replace by the moto of the magazine "See it through the artist Eyes"
I hope this changes will adress the needs of the target audience when i get more feed back on my next edit.

This is my first edit of my front cover, i have tryed to use sensible and aubtle colour such as the grey scale. i was inspired by the past GQ magazines use of orange so have use Blue to gove the colour scheme another layer. The Blue and grey link to the models clothing choice and link the photograph the the surrounding puffs and even the title which has been inspired by Billboar Magazine. I would like to get a more prominant Z composition to the page to mnake it easier for the reader to navigate. i will ask a target group for their opinions about this first edit and use it to create my final cover idea.
Font Cover Analysis 2
This edition of Blender is very inspirational as it is extremely sucessful in using colour to link the picture to the puffs and therefore the rest of the front cover. The use of Black And Pink in the text has a direct link to the pink in the models dress and the black of her hair. The anchoring text is also effetive as it has acheived the subtle tone that i am to produce in my own magazine, the anchoring text is acheived through simply making the text larger than the other puffs around it. This system is effective as ti draws attention like all good anchoring text should and also dosnt detract from the main photograph. This cover also possitions text above the title of the magazine in a banner form which add a sense of importance to its meaning. The puffs on this cover have been grouped in sections and situated away from eachother, this stops the list effect and makes it less imposing to the reader making it more attractive to the target audience.

Drakes apperance in GQ magazine showed a very subtle use of colour text and titling. this is what i hope to achieve with my magazine. The use of bright orange is a complete contrast to the black and white suit that the model is wearing however through cleaver use in the right places it adds another dimension to the cover. The orange is also successful in attracting the eye of the target audience. The background has been split using the models outline as a divide. one side has been filled black and the other white however both colous have been dullend down therfore not giving to sharp a contrast on the page. The text is white on the side of the black fill and then black on the white side. this makes the text easy to read and the articles easier to recognise. The orange colour is used as an anchoring colour bringing attention to the feature article and then linking the text to the model. This cover goes against convention as the magazines title is place over that of the photograph therefore detracting from the cover image. however, this is clearly justified because of its effective nature of linking the image back to the anchoring text again through the use of orange font.
Practise: First Photo Shoot
My first practise photo shoot went extremely well. I have focused on getting the lighting correct to compliment the model portrayed. The angles are good as they are not to extreme but at the same time effective in attracting the eye to the cover or article. I have tryed to use the scenery to the best of my ability, an example of this is the use of the reflective glass to convey that the model is hitting a dead end. I would like ti take further pictures against a white background to emphasise the model and exagerate his dominance in the photograph. The props and Mise-en-scene for the photo shoot where very limited due to the school environment that they where took in. i would like to include more relative Mise-en-scene such as a cap or headphones, this would also achieve a more direct message to the magazines target audience.

Magazine Design Brief
Breif: A clear refined choice of text throughout the magazine. Use of subtle colours such as the grey scale which wont take dominance away from the article or the photographs. Photographs should support the text and addd to the story therefore must be relative to the meaning of the article. Titles should be clear at the top of the page as they will be a vital source of navigation through the magazine supporting the individual page numbering, this can be acheived through the use of different colours and fonts. The main colour in a photograph could be used in fonts or other features such as graffics to link the photo with the rest of the page. The Magazine is aimed at established individuals with a high disposble income so the magazine must appeal to them.

I will draw inspiration fromt hese covers to help me create my own hip hop magazine covers. All these covers are umique in terms of design and adress the audince well through eye catching colours and cover picutres. i am inspired particularly by the XXL lil wayne front covers choic of camera angle and may recreate this in my magazine. the bright colours used in the comlex cover draw the attention to the model almost framing him in light, however the sover isnt concentional as it dosnt use the Z composition and no attention is drawn to the puffs. Only the anchoring text is clearly visible at a glance
Hip Hop Media Mag
through my mood board above i have tried to represent the general perception and iconography of hip hop however have also shown some images of apsiration that i found commonly depicted through songs discovered in my research. i have shown strong images to relate back to not only the overall dominering nature of the genres artist but also the background of the music as it has developed from an urban environment. the block nature of the traditional styles for representation of the genre stem from the urban background as the blocky charcateristics relate back to the rigid nature of the streets and buildings the genre was conceived in. the artist depicted above are very influential to the genre therefore they have a very serious persona this is the reason for many of the images being displayed in black and white, the black and white could also relate back to the un neggotating veiws preached by the artist in the rap community. "Bling" is very common thrughout the hip hop/ rap genre, bling is commonly used

Evaluation:
The technologies I used in the creation of my magazine were limited and therefore limited what I could control in the creation of my magazine. As a result the finished product isn’t to the highest possible standard, I feel if I had unlimited access to high end software such as Photoshop and was competent in using the software finish and overall quality of the magazine would be much higher in standard. I belive this software would have helped me to acheive a much higher standard mainly through the editing of photos and also through creating custom backgrounds. However despite this I believe that with the technology I had access to such as publisher I achieved the maximum capacity and therefore achieved a good end product. In particular focus I believe that my photos wouldn’t have been grainy and would have smoother boundaries when edited.
I was constantly thinking about my target audience when creating the magazine and this is shown in my end product. I found that my target audience of high end Hip Hop fans were fans more of context in formal English rather than through Street slang what is featured in many hip hop mags. The grey and simple tones I have used was a result of target audience, it appealed widely to my high end audience and was a symbol of simplistic class. The use of these tones also worked in not excluding any group of my wide target audience. The research into artist and common interest in my target audience also helped me because it gave me a frame in which I could create the theme of my magazine. This was particularly significant when I was creating my article as it gave me a ready made feel and plot. These features will attract my high end hip hop loving audience and create a “GQ” of Hip Hop.
I think that my magazines widely followed genre and also the higher end feel would appeal to a number of publishers. I would be particularly interested in publishing and distributing through the Conde Nast Company. The Conde Nast Company is responsible for the publishing and distributing of the world wide phenomenon GQ magazine. I also think that the influential central New York City base in the heart of Manhattan will easily be capable of distributing to my main target audiences in New York and London. I think this would suit my magazine more than distrinuting from an independent publishing house because i beleive there would be a high demmand due to the main stream popularity. My music magazine would be best place and distributed to large retailers such as super markets and WHSmith and also independent hip hop music shops. I beleive this would be extremely sucessful in reaching my target audience.
The magazine that i created has a very strong house style mainly created by a house font that runss throughout the magazine. the house font has allowed me to acheive a magazine that is formal and respected however at the same time having the hard hitting look reflective of the hip hop genre. i have chosen to run the font in black throughout the magazine except for the front cover where black font wasnt possible due to the dark backgroung of the cover shot. the black font allows the text to be easy to read for the audience and also portrays good practice when used in used as the colour to a serious article. this is common throughout magazines and newspapers alike.
my magazine front cover in my opinion is very successful; even though there are a large ammount of puffs as explored in my researched the page is well structured. the front cover has a very strong Z composition cretaed through the title achoring text and the bottom banner. Another traditional convention that i have stuck with on my front page is the possitioning of the top of the models head over the main title. this draws the eye to the magazine and creates a visual bridge to the cover and the main article, this creates more interest on the magazines contents from the veiwer. on my front cover i have deliberately chosen to use a larg ammount of puffs as an explicit link to the hip hop genre. i found thorughout my research of different magazines an "organised chaos" of puffs, examples of such include King Magazine and The Source.

My magazine is representative of not only the undergorund rebellious roots of hip hop but also the main streem. the way that artist and fans of the hip hop genre have been representative through other forms of media such as television and newspaper explicitly links them to 'Gang' and 'Youth Crime'. My magazine attempts to change the commonly wrong perception that the hip hop music genre is violent and un pc. I have tried to change this through discussing the roots of hip hop and how the artist try too earn respect and strive for success. I have also tried to combat this trough positive imagery such as the suited and well groomed artist depicted on the front cover and article. I have steered away from depicting violence or discrimination in the hope that the public will change the perception on hip hop and the relatively young audience that follows the genre.
The magazine and the articles inside it appeal to the lifestyle of the user therefore making it more than a music magazine and reflecting the whole of the hip hop lifestyle. This is particularly significant in the technology section which asses and test different types of technologies such as mixing software and other things that relate to the genre. The magazine appeals to all backgrounds and races and doesn’t exclude anyone this is key due to the diversity that exists in the genre itself. This has been achieved through the use of subtle tones and colours and the use of casual yet formal language throughout the Articles and also on the front cover.
The colours, fonts images and language that have been used in my magazine have me extremely well thought out. The colours of the Grey scale used throughout my magazine not only are favoured by my targget audience but also link to the street roots of the genre. The minimul use of primary colours such as yellow and red draw attention to a particular part of the page and build importance around that item. The colour of the red in my article is a direct link to the models red tie and therefore creates a visual bridge linking the picture to the text. The red and the yellow are also very significant in the hip hop genre because they both are symbolic of an object or emotion, 'seeing red' a clear showing of angur that links to my artcles story and the yellow of American Police incident tape that draws attention to something important. These subtle choices will be heavily appreciated by my target audience.
I have also used Mise en scene from the genre in my photos an example of this is the use of rapper Dr Dre's Beats headphones. these headphones are used widely in the hip hop genre and therefore gives the target audience something to relate to and also understand. I have also used the commonly ascociated hooded top in one of my images as another link to my target audience. The use of suits and well groomed artist links to my higher end target audience of those aged 22-34 who look for the higher level of class and decorum. The use of font has also been veryinfluential in appealing to my target audience, this has mainly been acheived through the use of graffiti art style text on my contents page. This style links to the genre well and adds character to the page, the colours of the text are complimented well by the grey scale of the page.

In comparison to my preliminary task I have seen significant development in the article and Front cover however I believe there has only been a miniscule development in my contents page. This was due to the high standard of the original. I have chosen to stick with the software and programme I used when creating the preliminary magazine mostly due to my inexperience in using the other alternatives. The photos used in the final magazine are of a much higher standard than that of the preliminary task and are much more relative to the article and also the theme of the magazine in general. The colours used in the final magazine are mostly grey tones on the grey scale, this is for two reasons one because it makes the rest of the colours in the images stand out of the page and also because it adds class. However I have also use bold primary colours along with the grey in the titles and in the border art this allows a visual link to the images and ties them to the text. This has worked much more successfully in the final magazine task than the preliminary.

in the final contents page i have descided to change the page numbers to the begining of the article name to make the page easier to read and interpret the imformation. i have chosen to keep the different backgroung tones because it hels the readers eye distinguish between the columns. i have changed the titles font to a much more relevant font to the genre of the magazine. the cleaness of the pagfe not only makes the page easier to navigate and read but also links to the preferences of the reader as i discovered in my surveys
the final version of my double page spread has been improve in the most part through cleaver use of artwork and through general finishing. i have editied my pictures to acheive the maximum quality, although the detail still isnt to a high definition it is a dramatic improvement to the photos last used. i have also done some layout editing mainly through extending and thickening the pages header art work. through this i have created a much more influential link between the picture and the artical title.
i have descided in the final editing stages that my magazine double page spread and contents page needed a more explicit link back to the genre. although aiming my magazuine at a more higher end audience i think it is important to show the roots of hiphop and link them to the pages in my magazine. i have done this on my contents page final version and also my double page. i have done this through the use of a graffiti style text as shown above, not only does the use of this font link back to the roots of the genre but also adds another dimension to the article because it is relative.
Tuesday, 26 April 2011
my new article double page spread follows the same layout as the original idea however is massively emhanced through the use of background. the dark and light tones and the white and black colouring enhance and draw the eye to different aspects of the page. the new feature of the white and red tile and bottom art work link the article to the picture through exploiting the colours of the model white shirt and red tie.

this is my full creation using my own photo shoot, i found that recreating the picture i used in the last related post was unpractical. i wasnt able to acheive the same definition or detail through my attempts and finding the correct location was hard. i therefore descided to go far a different approach by simply taking a clear front light photo which i have used against the pages white background. the white background adds to the definition of the picture and makes the models more imposng on the page therefore drawing atttention to the article. i have used costume very well in my photos and have used the models clothes and props such as the sunglasses to relate to my more sophisticated hip hop target audience. i have stretched my wave graphic along the page to link the models to the relating text, this creates a visible path between the artist and their story.

i have created this graphic to act as a bottom banner for my front cover. this graphic is a strong image and links the black and white theme to the meaning of the magazine. the graphic is extremely significant to the layout of my front cover as it acts as the end of the Z composition. the Z composition created makes it easy for the reader to interpret the page as it creates a visual passage for the eye to navigate the page along. the graphic also symbolises the meaning of the magazine as it focuses on the leading distributors of hip hop london and America.
final version of double page spread!
i have used the convention of having three colunms on a page, this technique allows me to appeal to the upper class and more proffesional nature i am targeting my magazine at. it also stears me away from traditional bold and imosing hip hop magazines such as the source and gives an effect of a higher standard and finish. i have also added a second title three strikes and your out to link to both the contents page making it easier for the user to navigate the magazine and also to the article itself. the black and white finish is used throughout the page and makes the page more easier to read for the user, the black and white also ties to the nature of "strikez's" lirics.

my double page page spread has been inspired by the TI double page below. i have also chosen to use a main photo and have allowed for a whole page in which to place it. the wall the model is leaning against give a visual wall and seperates the text from the picture. this allows me to create the subtel classy look which i was aiming for and also makes the page clearer for the reader to navigate. however the grainy graphic i have used over my title also links back to the streets that hip hop was born on and shows that hip hop sticks with its roots. i also found that the wall in my picture was very complimentary of the articles story as it symbolises the dead end Mc Bang has hit. the black and white look i have chosen gives the effect of a much higher end clientel what my magazine is aimed at, the black and white stops the article from being to domineering and pushy steering away from other magazines like the source.

i have descided to explore and experiment with photography. i have used both original concepts and my own new creations. these photoshoots will help me to have a more efficient and better quality front cover shoot. i have been experimenting with styles and location to create a more deeper impacting image.the image is deepend through the use of gaze theory and the three quarter composition of the photo. the gaze theory used in my image is very suggestive and inviting to the user as it isnt to full on eventhough there is a direct eye line to the reader. Mise en scene is very important in my images if i am to produce an image of accuracy in relation to the hip hop genre, this is created through the use of Dr Dre Beats headphones and the use of a NY yankees fitted cap which are both very common in the genre and therefore links the model back to the industry stars such as New Yorker JayZ. some of my photographs are below:

Practise cover!
i have decided to make a practise cover, this will enable me to determine the eventual layout of my final magazine cover. it also enable me to create a link to my research and incorporate ideas from my brainstorms. i beleive that making this practise cover enable me to be more efficient in my idea concepts and also increase the time frame when creating my final cover.
i have incorporated my research in to the cover, an example of this is the source inspired front cover layout witht the puffs above the title and also the bold lined title linked by colour to the main picture.

"Bling" is very common thrughout the hip hop/ rap genre, bling is commonly used to show and rate the success of an individual artist. bling can be intergrated in to many different iconographies not just jewlery but also cars and clothing.
